Ali Walsingham
Botanical Art
About Ali
Ali is an Oxfordshire botanical artist, preferring to work with either watercolour or graphite pencil.
After working as a nurse in the NHS since 1986, Ali rediscovered her love for drawing and watercolour in 2020. Inspired by her mother Jenny, who was an avid gardener and who worked in the Botany department at Oxford University, Ali seeks to learn more of both watercolour techniques and of botany and hopes to work towards making botanical illustration more accessible in Oxfordshire to both beginners and to experienced artists.
Ali teaches small groups of people keen to learn to draw and to paint in watercolour, complete novices or beginners keen to improve. Classes are held at the Northmoor Village Hall on Tuesday mornings weekly. From January classes will also be available on Saturday mornings. All materials provided for your first, trial lesson.
